This morning DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Bravo and Delta Patrol Squad Deputies responded to a vehicle burglary in progress where the suspect fled on foot. The victim reported his loaded Glock 9mm firearm as stolen. With the expedited response from Sheriff’s Office patrol units and the assistance of the Arcadia Police Department, a perimeter was quickly set up. The thief turned out to be a juvenile and was found to be in possession of the stolen Glock firearm. We arrested the juvenile suspect at the scene, and he subsequently confessed to Sheriff’s Office detectives his involvement in several other home and vehicle burglaries throughout our county!
The quick actions of everyone involved gave us the opportunity to solve 10+ open cases and arrest a total of 2 delinquent juveniles!
