Lieutenant Timothy Hilgeman has served with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office for thirteen years, starting his career in May of 2005.

Lieutenant Hilgeman has served in the Uniform Patrol Division as a Deputy, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May of 2016, and was promoted to his current rank of Lieutenant in April of 2017.  His certifications include field training officer program manager, speed measurement devices, advanced report writing, Federal Emergency Management Agency Major Event Planning, and Incident Command Integration.  His leadership training includes First Line Supervisor, Middle Management, and he is currently enrolled in the FBI - Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Trilogy; successfully completing the 286th Supervisor Leadership Institute and the 306th Command Leadership Institute.

Lieutenant Hilgeman is a graduate of the Florida Sheriff's Association Commanders Academy, Class VII.

Lieutenant Hilgeman served previously with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office as a Corrections Officer.  Lieutenant Hilgeman retired from the United States Air Force in September of 2016 after serving on active and reserve duty for 24 years.

Lieutenant Hilgeman is a member of the American Legion, the Arcadia Moose Lodge, and the DeSoto Gun Club.

bobwoodsLieutenant Robert Woods has served with the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office for three years, starting his career in April of 2015. 

Lieutenant Woods served in the Uniform Patrol Division as a Deputy, was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2016, and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2017. In 2018 he was promoted to Lieutenant. His training includes Instructor Certifications for General Topics, Firearms, Taser, CPR, and First Aid.  Lieutenant Woods is also a Certified Field Training Officer.  He is currently enrolled in the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association Trilogy.

Lieutenant Woods served previously with the Arcadia Police Department for twelve years as well as the DeSoto Correctional Institution as a Corrections Officer for two years.
  
Lieutenant Woods has served as a coach for football and baseball with DCYAA.  He has also directed several drug recognition classes for volunteers of the Guardian Ad Litem Program.
