The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for providing all technical support to the Sheriff’s Office. The primary mission requires continuous real-time data collecting and reporting for all calls for service and archiving historical events, involving Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Record Management Systems (RMS), Jail Management Systems (JMS), the 911 Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and many other software systems, which is a 24/7 operation.
The IT Department is responsible for maintaining all technological operations, including server and data infrastructure, desktop computers, Mobile Data Terminals (computers in the patrol vehicles), Voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems, In-vehicle and Body Worn Video Cameras, video surveillance systems for all Sheriff’s Office facilities, all network connections, involving other government entities, such as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Network, and all software systems used throughout the Sheriff's Office.
