On September 21, 2018, the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office Deputies successfully completed 40hrs of advanced training in Mental Health Awareness, as we partnered with Charlotte Behavioral Healthcare in Punta Gorda. Sheriff James F. Potter would like to congratulate Sergeant Michael Snow and Deputies Joseph Santos, Carl Miley, Brian Williams and Zachary Long on their graduation from Crisis Intervention Training.
Mental Illness and addiction are just two of the many issues our deputies are confronted with every day. This training will enhance the level of service we are able to provide to our citizens and help keep everyone safe.
