DEPUTY SHERIFF










The position of Deputy Sheriff performs generalized law enforcement and public safety work in the protection of life and property, and the execution of orders issued through the jurisdiction of the Sheriff.


The starting annual salary for this position is $32,494.62


Minimum qualifications for the position listed above include the following:



  • Applicant must be at least 19 years of age

  • Applicant must possess a State of Florida Certificate of Completion or Certification of Compliance

  • Applicant must be a United States Citizen

  • Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED

  • Applicant must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • College Degree (s)

  • Basic Training Certificate from CJSTC

  • Honorable Discharge Certificate

  • DD-214 form stating Honorable Discharge

  • Selective Service Registration documentation (if applicable)

  • Name Change Documents (marriage, adoption, etc.)





All applicants will be required to submit to a thorough background investigation which includes, but is not limited to, driver's license(s) review, credit history, prior drug use history, and arrest/conviction record(s). A written test will be administered at the time of the oral interview with the Law Enforcement Bureau. Applicants selected for employment will be required to submit to a conditional offer medical examination with drug screening and a psychological evaluation.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER










The position of Communications Officer performs public safety related work requiring the operation of telephone and radio dispatching equipment used in the Sheriff's Office Communications Center.


The starting annual salary for this position is $23,604.57


Minimum qualifications for the position listed above include the following:



  • Must have a high school diploma or GED

  • Must be willing to work any shift, weekends, and all holidays

  • Must be able to speak clearly and distinctly

  • Must be able to type 20-25 wpm

The position of Corrections Deputy performs varied assignments in the enforcement of security rules, regulations and procedures applicable to detainees in all phases of detention operations.


The starting annual salary for this position is $32,494.62

  • Applicant must be at least 19 years of age

  • Applicant must possess a State of Florida Certificate of Completion or Certification of Compliance

  • Applicant must be a United States Citizen

  • Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED
