The DeSoto County Sheriff's Office is pleased
to introduce your family to ComputerCOP software.
It is our hope that you'll make this crime prevention
tool part of a broader Internet safety plan in your home.

The Internet can be a wonderful educational tool.
It can also be a dangerous place for children and teens if left unsupervised.
Children of every age need parental guidance and now is the time
to be extra vigilant by involving yourself in their "online lives."
Predators have no problem locating potential young victims online
through instant messaging and chat rooms and many children
receive solicitations over the computer and never inform their parents.

Using computer software for monitoring purposes is a personal family
decision.  We are committed to protecting DeSoto County's children
from crime and we encourage you to do  your part as well.  Whether
or not you choose to use this software tool, please talk to your
children about protecting themselves and about their Internet use.
